Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Apart from nine Grammy nominations She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar star. She is both the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled back and forth to London in London and New Delhi. When she was only 13 when her first performance at New Delhi took place. She then moved in Encinitas CA, where she earned the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Even though she's very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. She has performed with her father in the stage for a long time. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy Nominated Live At Carnegie Hall. She's performed in all famous venues throughout the world. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday Anoushka first made an appearance playing the sitar in front of an audience at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Her father traveled around the world with her and she was able to gain many new experience. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. She was the only female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament to recognize her artistry and musicianship as an outstanding musician from music in Asian Arts.
